Algonquin in the fall is my idea alognquin heaven. Two buddies and I did the complete loop with two nights camping. If the second prediction is the case, would I only then have to purchase a camping permit for however many nights and that’s all??
Accessing the park from this side can be a bit of a chore, but it is worth the investment in time. The only backpacking bqckpacking is the La Cloche Silhouette Trail, which is meant to take days, and the only way of shortening it is to retrace your steps.

First night spent on a algonqiin on the West end of Provoking. From here, the trail climbs back up to the east side of Provoking Lake where hikers join up with the short loop.
